This week we had the Year Six Leavers Assembly.It was on the second-to-last day of school 2015.
Week 9
This week we went to Maungawhau school to verse against them in a game of Gaelic football. There was also the padder tennis finals. The boys went first, then the girls and the mixed.
Week 8
I am in the hall displaying my eight science projects to all the parents and classes. I have also got a pass in the stop disasters game in Tsunami.
Week 7
We're making a game and my group is making maori monopoly.
Week 6
This week a new teacher from Hong Kong came into our class. Her name is Miss Francine.
Week 5
We printed out stuff like a haiku, limerick, and a tanka.
Week 4
We had inquiry fact finding with Mrs Dunn, and we looked at Guy Fawkes, about who he was and what did he do.
Week 3
We had a Gaelic Athletic Association coach come and teach us how to hurl and use the hurling ball. We also did passes and kick passes
with a gaelic football.
Week 2
In week 2 we went to the Auckland Museum. We were there to investigate volcanoes and looked at lots of the exhibits. This is a photo of me and my group investigating volcanic rocks.
Week 1
In this week we had athletics,and my whanau group,Ngata, did long jump and discus. We also went to the Phillharmonia orchestra,
and we learnt a new song that has a dance to it. The music gets faster as you go along.

In week 10, a lot of people watched us dance, including the school, parents, and grandparents.

In week eight,Room 10 visited us in our class and we did lots of different activities like coming up with techniques involved with a ball down from 10 to 1, or 1 to 10,like rolling, bouncing, and throwing and catching.

We now have finished our calendar art and we can now order it into cards, calendars, diaries, and more.

We had a book fair and I came as Boromir from Lord of the Rings. He holds Anduril in his left hand and blows the Horn of Gondor proudly.

On Friday this week we did our speech, and mine was about cooking. here is my document of the speech.
Group four have planted our seeds for our pallets, and they are watered and growing.

Parsnip.

Mint.

We are focusing on a topic in seed germination. I have used the ideas from Wikihow. For an example, the radicle grows the roots, step by step.

Week 10
We are doing a house launch and I am in Sir Apirana Ngata. We had a parade and literally screamed our chant so everybody heard.
Week 9
We are now doing James Rizzi art for 2015 and are going to put them on our wall. I am excited to see what designs our class has done for work.
Week 8
In week eight, we had assembly from room 22, listened to some songs from them, and shared people that fought in WW1, shared if they were injured or not. My great
cousins, Benjamin and Joshua Skudder fought in WW1. Joshua travelled to Egypt and fought the rebels that attacked, and slept in the cold while the rest froze to death. Ben
served in the Ottoman Empire and sought refuge in a base while the nurses healed his bloody leg.
Week 7
In week seven, room 25 are doing pallet gardens.
I am in Team Four.We have sanded our pallet and painted it white.
We are now going to paint it with a pattern.
Week 6
This week our class discovered Duolingo.I am happy that we are learning French, but some other people are learning German and Spanish. Here is a photograph of my progress.

O.K. In week five, we did some statistics in class.
We are learning about pie, column, line, doughnut, dot plot, and stem and leaf plot graphs. Also, we have been
watching Ted EX and here is a YouTube about it.
Week 4
Mr Vartha showed us a critical YouTube about a disease that we all should know. The name for this disease is Progeria.
Progeria is when you are your normal age, you feel older. When a person, Sam Berns, had Progeria, he made a video called My Philosophy For a happy life.

We are going to play Kings and St Kents at soccer this Tuesday. Hurrah!
Update: the weather was too wet so instead, we had to stay inside and do work :-{
We are looking at things to grow and Mr Vartha suggested we should do pallet gardens. I think his suggestion is great because when I looked at his master sheet, the pallet gardens look neat sitting in the rows.
Week 3
May the fourth be with you! May the fourth is my Grandpa's birthday and also Star Wars Day because it sounds like May the Force...(be with you).
I wrote a poem about a shell I picked out of a box of decorations. This is my poem:
Crash! Towering waves curve upwards and smote the shore with a rending boom. Jagged rocks line the sand, forming a grey-white blanket. The courteous breeze sifted the miniscule grains of sand out of their youthful grasp. Footprints lay clomped into the shoreline where people have trodden. Sodden clumps of dirt lay on the sand by the decapitated Kauri tree where the fateful axe struck into the ripe bark.
Week 2
Mr Vartha announced the House Captains this week. Arunika and Keisha are the House Captains for Room 25, congratulations Captains!
I have been learning about respect, care and empower. It is our school motto and it means you should care about others, property, yourself and the environment.
Week 1
n week one,we start running fitness logs. I have never done this many laps before, but I ran four laps around the full length of the School Field. It made me feel proud of myself.
I learnt a poem called in Flanders Fields to remember the soldiers who fought in WWI and to commemorate Anzac Day, April 25th.

On the last day of school we have class auctions and I win a bag of twisties and some rice snackers crackers.
On Monday this week I had my three way conference.

Week 8
This week we finished our Easter Island head to auction at the Carnival. Its name is Hoahakanana'ia.
This is what we did to make it:
1. We rolled chicken wire to the shape we wanted.
2. We covered the shape with paper mache, which is strips of paper mixed with glue.
3. We waited for it to dry then we spray painted it grey. We wore masks to protect us from the toxic fumes.
4. After the paint dried we lacquered it over and then it was finished.
Our class also worked on a recount together about a play that we all went to last year about Aladdin.
Week 7
Mrs Cowy announces that houses will soon be newly made. Hurrah!
Carnival coming this Saturday, can't wait! I've been practicing my dances for Culture Club and songs for Choir.
Week 6
We start progressing in our work. So far I am at level 2A for writing, 4-5 for maths, and 11.5-12.5 for reading.
I also have been working on my papier mache head figure. I made an Italian chef who works at Gusto's Restaurant. I've named him Guido :-)
We wanted to see if papier mache was suitable to make our Easter Island head for the carnival, and it was!
Week 5
This week was Outdoor Education week. My group drove to Clip n Climb in a bus and I got a great achievement by climbing to the top of the wall and hitting the red button.
After that we went to Potters Park, had lunch and played some games.
The next day we went on a ferry to Motuihe Island and explored the native places to see the birds. I saw a saddleback which is a very rare bird.
Week 4
I get some golden tickets in class for doing good work and focusing on my recount, and I am proud.
I am on set S for spelling which is awesome!
Week 3
We start reading and I slowly progress in our work.
Week 2
We start practising gaelic football which is when you have to do something with the ball every 4 steps, e.g. run, bounce, solo, kick it to someone else. If you throw the ball it
goes to the other team because you have to hold it in one hand and hit it to another player instead of throwing.

We learned about the rules in class and about Blendspace and started to learn new words for vivid vocab, like desolate, infuriated, and analyse.
I am happy to be back at school for the start of the new year.
